Through out the trailer there is slow pace editing, with a total of four cuts. It makes the audience feel as if they are part of the film and reels them into the action. Further more there was three static shots and on rails, each of the shots is hand held and close to the upcoming action.

FILM ANALYSIS
Children of Men stands out from typical dystopian sci-fi movies. Popular and commercially successful films such as Minority Report 2002, Blade runner 1982, portray dystopian worlds in a futuristic and escape from the characteristics of modern society. However Children of Men shows a more negative version of the 21st century modern society.
The unique approach allows the audience to relate to modern day society and therefore the audience can relate to the movie in a deeper way. The character that had played Julian in the movie (Julianne More) quoted ‘the audience doesn’t come to see you, they come to see they come to see themselves’. The directors unique techniques brings the audience along on the thrill ride with vivid images of the future world.
Through out the trailer there is slow pace editing, with a total of four cuts. It makes the audience feel as if they are part of the film and reels them into the action. Further more there was three static shots and on rails, each of the shots is hand held and close to the upcoming action.
The mis-en-scene in the film is very dark and dingy. The surroundings in the background are dark and gloomy for example in the café there is dirty and gritty in the inside. There are dark grey building and the scenery and had been dimmed, low level lighting which made the atmosphere sad and gloomy. There is a lot of general demolished environment filled with garbage and torn posters on the walls. The main character pours alcohol into a cup; this action is stereotypically shown in a lower class society.
The sound in the film is also mostly diegetic and has sounds of cars and commotion. With the upper class people and there fore leads to continuing the portrayal of the destroyed society. This draws the audience in because it makes the film, as it is nicely resemble the slow motion images in the background. Along side the diegetic sound there is also dialogue of the main character and the news reporter telling the narration of the plot to give the audience a clue of what is going on. When the explosion kicks out there is debris that continues to ass to the debris on the street and people on the streets are seen to be wounded. The explosion is followed by more energetic music causing more tension between the audience and film.
The film takes place in the year 2027 when Britain stands alone as the only functioning government in the world. Why does Cuarón choose Britain? Why not America, Germany, France or some other country? It appears that Britiain is not a coincidental choice by Cuarón. According to Slavoj Žižek, a renowned continental philosopher and critical theorist, one of the possible explanations is that Britain’s government has a de facto constitution and works, according to Žižek, based on “substance of tradition” and history. The picture on the left was drawn for the Times Higher Education Supplement about the "precedent, pageantry, mythology and phantasm that is Britain’s unwritten constitution”.

AV Pitch
Basic Plot Synopsis: We are introduced to a young man only known by his alias AV. He is hacker and we first see him coding away on his computer. This character will be a teenager with unique abilities. He becomes involved in an anti-capitalist anarchy organisations (Occupy) and decides to wipe away the whole credit history of everyone in the world, causing a worldwide economic crash due to his parents being involved with big debt. This causes chaos throughout the world, then we skips to five years later when they world has suffered mass apocalyptic chaos due to people looting. AV goes on his own mission to restore society to what it was before. He ends up meeting a female which she is too looking for a solution to rebuild society. He is against time because the female that he falls in love with is now dying of leukemia. He has to go back in time to stop himself from making the error that he now regrets. The trailer will be very fast paced and chaotic. By him going back in time it makes him sacrifice his life for his girlfriend. There is only two characters the male character does not tell his real name and has the name of AV which is his alternative name. The female character is called Maria and they have been childhood friends there will be a flashback and a silent moment of them two growing up together and then meeting again being the last people in the world.
Describe Mise-En-Scene: Very gritty colour palette with saturated scenes to give that realistic look but also to give the sense of post-apocalyptic aftermath, with building debris and burned/scorched things around the city.
Cinematography / Photography: As the trailer will show scenes where the world is an apocalyptic stage, we will need to find some stock aerial footage of major cities around the world and edit them making them look broken and in a stage of chaos, cities we have in mind are London and then a more global overview of the world. Most of the shots we will film we plan to make them handheld using a Steadicam rather than being fixed on a tripod, this will give the user more of a realistic feel and make the footage more engaging due to the genre.
Conventions: We plan to reinforce most conventions being in any form of media like posters and the trailer, as we will keep the convention of urgency and distress in the film posters seen in big Hollywood films. However we do plan on subverting some conventions we find like usually we have a main villain or higher power thing that causes the world to come into a apocalypse where as in this film the person who causes it ends up regretting it and wants to revert it, and it’s based on the sense of regret that damages his mentality. Furthermore the production will also consist of oriental characters which will show a more diverse audience and will also attract a young audience.
Resources: In terms of resources is, we would need a couple of actors, like no larger than 5, as we there aren’t many people in the story line, mostly more before the apocalypse happens, therefore it shouldn’t take long to film. However we will need a good chunk of time for the heavy editing we intend to do. Whereas the props we use are easily accessible to us as a production time. All the setting we intend to film are easily accessible, but would require us to be there at certain time frame, such as the Westfield bridge but in a time when no one is there, such as early in the morning.
Our unique selling point: As a film based around the modern time frame we thought to make it seem as modern as possible without making it look futuristic as possible with laser guns and android, but make do with the technology we have now. Also out aim is to make something that could potentially happen in modern times which could have a huge dramatic effect on society and what the outcome of it could be.

Avengers poster analysis
Mise-en-scene:
The image used in this poster is a wide shot that shows all the characters that are going to be set in the film and the surroundings the movie is going to be set in. From the arrangement of the picture we gather that the main characters that are shown in the film are organised at the front of the poster such as Iron Man where as Captain America would have a lower status .However Hulk in the character is also eye-catching although he is at the back he is seen as a very dominant character and doesn't have human characteristics like the other superhero which makes you want to find out more about him as a character.
Layout:
The poster has used the rule of thirds to make sure that no characters are presented directly in the middle of the poster. This allows the audience to see all the characters and to also see the background behind them. The casts names are all presented on the top of the poster which is very attractive to the audience when they see the famous actors listed in the film that most people are familiar with. This is also a very clever selling technique.
The tittle is presented at the bottom third of the poster which is shown big and clearly with the Marvel logo on top the small Marvel logo is culturally popular that the majority of audience observing the poster will instantly tell that it is a superhero movie.
Language:
This poster doesn't present any particular type of language but presents the name of the film at the bottom of the poster. Usually in a action film poster there will be a short catchy caption to summarise the film. However I guess the fame of the actors presented in this film is a selling point in its self.
Colour:
This poster uses a variety of colours to draw attention to the audience. The use of red and green instantly point out the characters. The contrasting use of orange shown in explosions and grey used in the background set the apocalyptic surrounding. The characters also stand out compared to the grey background which emphasises the run-down setting the protagonists are fighting in.
There is also a sense of luminescent light coming from Iron Man is very eye-catching and makes you want to see the movie more.
