Avengers poster analysis

Mise-en-scene:

The image used in this poster is a wide shot that shows all the characters that are going to be set in the film and the surroundings the movie is going to be set in. From the arrangement of the picture we gather that the main characters that are shown in the film are organised at the front of the poster such as Iron Man where as Captain America would have a lower status .However Hulk in the character is also eye-catching although he is at the back he is seen as a very dominant character and doesn't have human characteristics like the other superhero which makes you want to find out more about him as a character.

Layout:

The poster has used the rule of thirds to make sure that no characters are presented directly in the middle of the poster. This allows the audience to see all the characters and to also see the background behind them. The casts names are all presented on the top of the poster which is very attractive to the audience when they see the famous actors listed in the film that most people are familiar with.  This is also a very clever selling technique.

The tittle is presented at the bottom third of the poster which is shown big and clearly with the Marvel logo on top the small Marvel logo is culturally popular that the majority of audience observing the poster will instantly tell that it is a superhero movie.

Language:

This poster doesn't present any particular type of language but presents the name of the film at the bottom of the poster. Usually in a action film poster there will be a short catchy caption to summarise the film. However I guess the fame of the actors presented in this film is a selling point in its self.

Colour: 

This poster uses a variety of colours to draw attention to the audience. The use of red and green instantly point out the characters. The contrasting use of orange shown in explosions and grey used in the background set the apocalyptic surrounding. The characters also stand out compared to the grey background which emphasises the run-down setting the protagonists are fighting in.

There is also a sense of luminescent light coming from Iron Man is very eye-catching and makes you want to see the movie more.
